PS3 controller worked perfectly with steam until today
I have a PS3 controller hooked up to my pc that used to work perfectly with steam big picture. I installed the pc drivers through Playstation now (https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/explore/playstation-now/ps-now-on-pc/) since it auto downloads them. Everything worked until today.
Now steam does not even recognize that there is a controller plugged in. I deleted and redownloaded the drivers, restarted everything yet nothing changed. The controller does turn on and windows register it as a device connected, so it must be steam that has the problem here. What can I do?

Here is the issue, the PS3 drivers were good back when the PS3 was around,
Sony has not been updating those drivers, nor are they updating them for PC.

They do work, though. The issue is, once your controller disconnects the first
time you unplug it? Windows 10 & your PC does not know what to do with that,
nor how to handle it, because the driver is too old for the PC to work with.

As of lately, because the driver still has yet to be updated, & windows 10 has
been getting updates, now we face a problem where the System does not
support a driver already installed, causing the PC to crash, or remove weird
drivers, even if their the wrong drivers. & it's all just because the controller is
plugged in at all.

Unless Sony supplies an updated version of PS Now with new DS3 drivers,
I don't think there is anything we can do. However, PS3 & PS NOW has already
been ended, & PS3 is having it's servers shut down, little at a time, but it's
already started happening.

So changes of new PS3 controller drivers are very slim right now. There is
also the fact that, PS NOW that i'm aware of has not had a single update
since it launched, for at least PC, unless I was unaware of any updates
happening.

I was never interested in the DS4 controller, & kept my original DS3 controllers,
just cause I liked the way they felt in the hands, & how the controller works,
& such. Sadly, until something changes, they are just sitting on a shelf collecting
dust. The issue is not a STEAM related issue, it is a Sony related issue, I think.

If anyone is able to confirm that it's not a STEAM issue, or even that
it is a STEAM issue, it would be great to find some kind of resolve over this?
