Buy a multipack of a game I already own

I think the topic speaks for itself, I already own a copy of skullgirls but want to buy the 2 pack so I can gift it to friends. It shows "Your account already owns some of the above items, so you can’t purchase them again. You can purchase these items as a gift or adjust the contents of your cart to continue." But then the button to purchase as a gift is also unclickable. I'm absolutely sure I've bought multiple copies of a game while owning it before, so I'm confused why this is a problem now. I could theoretically buy the copies separate, but the whole point is to be able to get the discount so. Any ideas?

Remove the game from your library and then purchase the multipack.

Those packs are designed to add one copy into your library and the rest as gifts in your inventory.

That's the option that removes the game permanently right? I'd really rather not do that as I might as well just buy the game separate at that point instead of buying a multipack and then another game but, if that's the only option I suppose

Probably ends up cheaper buying 2 copies separately, yeah... I didn't see until now that it was a 2-pack you were talking about.

No worries, I took the long route and sent my friend to money to buy the multipack. Thanks for the help though!

Permanently not really, can restore the purchase at any point whenever as you have the restore option, but you can repurchase when doing that as well.

That is the best option really, and beats having to rebuy it for yourself.

Also there is custom amount trick, but you need to look up guide for that by Google search, also can only be done on browser.

I thought they removed the ability to remove the game and purchase the 2, 3, 4 pack. Others have stated it in other threads.
