Steam Library "not responding"

Edit: This discussion is a year old and I never found a solution for the problem. I haven't dealt with this problem for a while now as of writing this and I'm only leaving this up as proof that this bug exists. I didn't find a solution to the problem, but for anyone who comes across this post feel free to cite this discussion in any discussions you make relating to this same issue.

Every once in a while my steam library will get stuck on whatever page I was on, whether that be the home screen, one of my collections or just the game I was recently playing, similar to as if the entire page was not responding. However, I can still interact with the browser's contents as buttons still highlight and blink when clicked on though I cannot right click to bring down a selection tab nor does interacting with contents actually bring me to the selected option.

TL;DR,
I click on a game within the library ui, the poster highlights as if clicked but nothing happens.
I click on a title on the side view list of games, the name highlights as if selected but again nothing happens.

Additionally, I can interact with other steam pages outside of the library view such as browsing the store page, looking at community discussions, messing around with my profile, or better yet writing this help discussion. This also doesn't hinder me from playing games in my library as I can launch my most recently played games from the steam toolbar tab or browse my library directly by switching to a different steam view such as small mode or big picture mode.

This however is just an annoying work around as I prefer the default library view since nothing else is on my screen most of the time and the only proper fix to this issue is to restart steam entirely which takes way too long with it's unnecessary updating queue...

Np, I ended up reinstalling it and everything is working now.

Glad to hear you found a work around! Same solution worked for me, but it was temporary for me so hopefully its permanent for you.
