Is it possible to download and keep steam games updated on a NAS?
Hello,
I bought an Asustor NAS and I want to use it to download and update Steam games for Windows.
I’m able to set up a Linux VM on the NAS.
I also want it to download only between 2am-6am (Not important).
It would be nice if anyone could help me, I already thought about using Linux and the SteamCMD.

As long you can select the destination then sure, you can download, or update, and play your games on your NAS drive.

Top left side of Steam client, click Steam, then click settings, click on Download tab, and click on button Steam Library Folder, and add the destination.

It is good to know that it is possible to play games using a PC and the NAS as hard drive.
But I want to turn my PC off and let the NAS alone download the games over night.

Steam needs to be running in order to make those updates, or download.

Maybe Steam Proton could be a solution.
