Steam desktop application logged in, but not?
So, I've had this persistent issue with steam where I'm logged into steam (I can purchase games, play games I've downloaded, etc.) however I have issues accessing the community option, along with my inventory (I can see my inventory, however I cannot see my "new" items, I cannot see friend invites on the app, and my wishlist). When I try to go to some of these, it tells me I need to sign in (which I am already signed in). I've tried relogging, and I've tried reinstalling the client (while keeping some games on my SSD, which is not the same disc as my steam client). I'm at a loss on how to fix this, as I can't access the steam workshop on my desktop app. What do you guys think I need to do? (Win10, built my PC. Didn't always have this issue, but I have for quite some time now). Thanks!

Open the activity page to get Steam to attempt to re-login. It's an issue that's been around for years.

The problem with this though is it always states "there was an error communicating with the steam servers. Please try again later."

I'm having this exact issue, only it won't let me buy games. I can download but not purchase.
