My PC wont stop buffering while playing games.
I checked to see if I have any viruses or malware and nothing came up and my pc is running like ♥♥♥♥. All my drivers are up to date and my Internet is perfectly fine. I don't know whats happening and I really need help.

Guessed so. You could also try opening up your pc case and make sure all cables are connected correctly, especially the GPU. Sometimes it can come lose in the PCI-E slot a bit which can cause problems.

- Ensure system not overheating.

- Ensure storage drive usage not maxing out, or having something going on at same time in background while gaming.

- Ensure via your GPU control panel that it set to high performance to using your GPU, and not your iGPU, unless this is a APU only.

- Ensure you're not downloading high performance at same time you're playing your game.

- Check your system BIOS to see if there known issue, and if it needed update to fixing microcode which is very rare, but could happen.

- Ensure you're not hitting VRAM limit where game have trouble working correcrly, or has issues which if this happens you simply turn game settings down to lower VRAM usage.

- If issue only happening to online games then means either you have high ping, or bufferbloat issues, can happen when using wifi, and if too far from the internet access point to have stable connection to it.

1. You have to check when the issue occur, not before the issue, or after the issue has pass, reason is you want to know if your system overheating, this can happen which you see freezing, low performance, stuttering, even app crashing, or blue screen error message.

2. That doesn't mean anything how big your stoage, you have to ensure it's no MAX out in full of files it need room for apps to be able to write data to, or else can run into issue like faulty game saves, crashing games, or such. It's recommended to at least have ~20% of free storage at all times for said each storage drive.

3. If this is a laptop, please make sure you have high performance is set via nvidia/amd gpu control panel software. Example video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68bs-qdVGUI

If you're using desktop, ensure your monitor is plug into your GPU, not your motherboard.

4. If you're downloading something in background at same time as you're playing your game then this can cause problems like freezing, or stuttering.

5. It means check if your system BIOS is up to date, not your windows, your System BIOS.

6. To test VRAM issue you have to use hardware mintor software like riva tuner + msi after burner to see what going on.

7. Understood then means one of the other issues.

1. I think it might be overheating now, i think it is more probable it reached around 95 degrees C after i turned it back on after my laptop shut off. I was only playing for 30 mins on same graphics.
2. i am certain it is not storage files
3. it was set to auto but i changed it to high preformance NVIDIA processor and the problem is still happening so it is not that
4. I am certain it is not background tasks or downloading
5. Sorry i am fairly new to computers and laptops and i dont understand how you do this
6. Sorry i cant open the msi thing because the file is zipped

also so more info that might help:
the sound from all applications glitch out when the lag occurs but only the game lags if you get what i mean
recently my laptop has shut down by itself it has only happend twice over the period of 3 days, think it might be because of the temp

It does sound like overheating as that can happen when it reach a point where it unable to cool off, so it shut itself down in order to protect itself from taking damage from the heat. First it lag badly, freezeing can happen, or even app crash, and worse case it shutoff on it own with no blue screen, blue screen be related if hardware malfunction due to overheating giving you a code. All errors + info can still be recorded will be in the windows logs.

When last time you blow the dust out the device?

Have you done any overclocking?

Are you from a hot climate, or is room you're playing in is very hot?

Then likely dust build up problem.

If worse case, it might be thermal paste that went bad, and need to reapply it to fixing the problem.

i opened it up and it wasnt very dusty, i usually play daily for an hour and a half and i have only had this laptop for 2 years
My dad said it might be the fact that i had it on a laptop/mouse pad and the bottom vents were blocked
the lag has stopped now and the heat is at a stable level and not constantly going up and down
thanks for all the help!

Ah then yeah that will be the problem, and yes your dad is right, if you block the vents, or reduce it airflow it will cause overheating, so make sure not to put it on any fabric surface, only hard surface, better is using a laptop stand with holes in the bottom that line with the air vents that will help with airflow as well.

Thanks for everything thought! you still helped, i would have had no idea about the high preformance nivida card
