Launching a game multiple times after clicking play once

So I'm having an issue that just started about an hour ago, any time I launch a game through steam it opens the game about 11 times and makes my laptop crash. It does it with non steam games I have added shortcuts for in the steam library too. It does not do it with non steam games if I just launch with their .exe file but even with launching steam games through their .exe files it still tries to open it multiple times. Does anyone know how to fix this?

this is a best guess, you are in Balance mode, you need Full performance,
i try slap laptop owner, in a gentle way so you never forget this again.
try see own mistake as learning so other Laptop owner never forget it.

you or not the first and you will not be the last with this.

but hey we can all say buy a better pc. because that the issue here run 3D or games that require high-end resources and you start games with reduced power.

do not delete own post, its almost dayly another laptop owner make / forget own settings is the cause. so you actual help all other laptop own then read this.

dont think i cant forget it, but then i crash a game i know exatly what cause is ( sure im experience IT tech person, but point is we all have to learn, Laptop and Desktop is not same thing. )

and learn to say Laptop model name and nr. ( noone will help you then they dont know spec and can look it up, even link own spec from web will be a help, not the first time same nr. with diffrent Brand. ( Laptop owner is hard to help with no information ) what if you dont meet Requirement then you still are in trouble. ) and you have waste my times and other that try to help you.

the idea with nice slapping Laptop owner's is not a shame you but let all Laptop owner never forget it.

I think it is just a problem with steam on some games. My desktop pc still does it with a few games and some games don't even close after shutting them down (V Rising for example. I close it, and steam says it isn't running but playtime keeps going up)
