Cannot right click on properties.
Hey there- I just reinstalled Steam and Fallout 4 on a new comp system running Windows 10. FO4 crashes on launch after the options menu. Right clicking on the properties of the game just gives me a black shaky box which I can only get rid of by using task manager. It let me verify the game integrity once in fifty times right after reinstalling FO4 for the 2nd time. The integrity checked out ok but it still won't launch. Any clue here would be appreciated. Thanks.

Through the Steam client. And I just reinstalled Skyrim (Legendary) which will at least launch through Steam and plays fine BUT again when I right click on the properties I get the black shaky box. ?

I only have FO4 and Skyrim installed. Skyrim will launch and play. FO4 will crash. Neither will let me right click on properties without the black box. (Except once) I reinstalled Steam earlier today but to no avail. I have been using Steam for almost 10 years and never encountered any issue like this.

You don't rightclick properties. R/click program or game open properties. Left click onit.

Yes. I apologize for my wording. That's what I meant. I right click the game and then hitting properties brings up the black box.

what default Browser do you have, many today have forgot steam is actual a browser, and sometimes our browser can cause issue with other web showed content. but as above user point out , to confim it can be hard.

try firefox the MS then Chrome in that order. ( they are still the most well test browser today. )
change default browser as test, you might even need to reboot, i dont recall if it accpet new browser then click on a link or still use old browser. ( this is a test ) nothing more.

or this is part of clear in steam menu webbrowser content , that effect steam system.

If you just reinstalled Windows, maybe you forgot to install drivers?
Get the motherboard drivers and graphics card drivers from their manufacturers web sites, and see if that helps.

Ok, all my drivers are updated. Google chrome is my main browser but I tested IE and Firefox. I deleted everything in the Steam folder except the Steamapps folder and the steam exe. and reran it. (As admin and not) Nothing is making a difference. I just don't understand it. Again, Skyrim will run but FO4 crashes. And I have no way to verify game integrity on either. What an odd problem. There is just something I am obviously missing here.
And thank you for all the suggestions. I will keep scratching my head on this one until I figure something out.

is right click and fo4 same issue

or all ganmes, as 2 diffrent issue. ?

ps.
skyrim and fo4 has same mod issue, its both Bethesda games and require same reinstall

rename fo4 to .old do same on userdata .old and turn off cloud and workshop mod install then you reinstall fo4 as test as Original only. ( no mod added ) if you cant get original to work then why bother with mods.

Ok, for some odd reason it is working now. All I did was screw around with the resolution settings on my monitor. I have no idea what the real issue might have been. Thank you all again for the help.
