Steam Activity showing on Xbox Live
I’ve just found out that when I play a game on steam, the activity is shown on my Xbox live account. At no point did I agree to this or set this up. How do I stop it? According to articles on google there should be an Xbox app on my pc, but I can’t see one. I’m hoping the fact the articles are a few years old is why the app has disappeared.

Or contact Microsoft support.

Steam doesn't provide information as they wouldn't know, nor will they do it without your permission, only way is you providing it yourself to Microsoft, this can be done by playing a Microsoft game, and logging into your Microsoft/Xbox account.

Then open the game bar. You can (un) link from there as well.

thank you,

after doing a bit more digging i discovered what i needed to do. The Xbox App has been redesigned. if anyone else has similar issues do the following (at your own risk etc)

press windows + G
press account at the top
Sign out

It's also reported the new Games bar is a massive resource drag, you may wish to do the following;

remove the Xbox App

remove Games bar driver

As said above, you may not wish to do the above, but it's certainly an option.

Open your Xbox app, click on your name at top left, open Settings, go to the Account tab and scroll down to Privacy Settings. Make sure "Others can see your PC game activity" is set to Block.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
