So in these modern days games don't come completely on disc. Some physical copies of games do not even include a disc any more. The fact of the matter is that you are going to have to download some files no matter how you buy your games these days, whether it be for your Computer or an Xbox or a Playstation.
Now you can play games on Steam in offline mode which should happen automatically if you are not connected to the internet. But, you HAVE to download the required files needed to install the game to your computer before you can even play.
I know about "these modern days" but MW3 is about 8 years old. Long before download codes. There are two discs.
I already play several games in off-line mode, including MW2 - which also has two discs. I can't buy new games because as you say, they generally only provide a code. Daft, but there it is...!
As for which forum: I thought this, being 'general', might stand a better chance of ringing a bell with someone.
I will try the MW3 forum anyway. Just in case...
But there will be updates that you need to download in order to play the game anyways.
Just as said here. Even with an 8 year old game you will have to install a variety of patches that came out after the games release. By these modern days I mean just about any game released in the last 10 years or so. Just about every game gets patches after their initial release and many of them demand you have the latest up to date patch to play them even off line.
However, I have managed to find a different and much better ISP, "Smarty", who give unlimited data. Problems solved.
Thanks everybody for the input. All useful had I needed to go for it...
