PS4 controller supported racing game
Hi!
I would like to play a game like Need for Speed, but with a proper support for a PS4 controller. I think my PC is capable of running 4-5 years old games well enough(or older of course). I would like to buy a game like that on Steam. I searched for a while but did not find anything witch seems ok for me AND supports a PS4 controller (NfS Hot pursuit is not supporting PS4 at all). But you fellow gamers are wiser than me i think. Any suggestions?

Get a controller that has greater compatibility with Steam

If you're completely unfamiliar with Steam controller settings, basically, it's designed to make any gamepad compatible with literally every Steam game; you'll only need to enable Dualshock 4 support in controller settings. Should be no problem at all

You are right i am potato at any type of settings, but when i installed NFS Hot Pursuit i could not use my controller even i tryed every settings possible (enabling, disabling things one by one on Steam controller settings). Then i check out some threads around the web finding that you can only play that game with softwares that makes the game believe you are using Xbox controller. Because i am a potato, and a simple person i gave the game back and starting to search for games that could be played with PS4 controller. And now i am here.

There must be a mistake in Steam settings you've probably made, because this scenario looks very unlikely to happen if PS4 compatibility is enabled. This is exactly the case you call "the software that make the game believe you are using Xbox controller". Steam does this

PS4 compatibility was enabled. 100% sure. Does not work. I tried if there is a problem with my controller but it worked properly in other games. After some attempts the game asked for controller configuration of every possible action you can make from scrolling the menu to accelerate etc. more then a 100 commands. I think this is not the correct way. I mean it worked but i did not have the mood to calibrate all the commands (a lot of commands). I think it just have to adopt the default Xbox controls but it did not.

Did you open "Controller configuration" for the game? Did you choose "Gamepad" template?

I remember that i did open "Controller configuration" and try out some options, but i am not exactly sure about the "Gamepad" template. Can not tell. Are you sure that could be a solution? I mean you did that before and worked for you?

One of the reasons of why the game can't detect the gamepad may be of the incorrect bindings Steam might've setup for you before the first game startup.
Under controller configuration, goto "Browse configs", "Templates", find "Gamepad". That should do everything.
