Accidentally hid my devices while remapping controller, can't unhide it?
Hey,

I was editting my controller settings, because i've been having problems with it in certain games (right stick wont move the camera vertically, because steam automatically maps it as Axis 4) I accidentally hid hide devices somehow on steam. Now steam doesnt read my controller at all, but theres a prompt button that reads unhide devices. I keep trying to press it, but it doesnt do anything (neither does the cancel button), they just make a noise, and give no visible representation of being pressed.

I'd love some help with this, thanks!

i hate to be THAT guy but I'm having the same problem, anyone found a fix?
If you need the controller for games only and it is not steam controller, why not disabling the feature in steam?

I managed to fix it by reinstalling steam.
Later i noticed i could have fixed it by exitting big picture mode (cause apparently you cant press the lowest buttons in it for some reason) , and stretching it big enough till i could see the cancel and unhide controller buttons (which i could press now).

->basically big picture mode ♥♥♥♥♥ with being able to press buttons

i fixed with- view>big picture mode(enabling it)>settings>controller config -and it let me press unhide at the bottom. I never use Big picture mode but i needed it to hit those buttons >.<
In my case to actually click any of the buttons (HIDE, CANCEL, UNHIDE, BACK) I have to point the mouse much lower than actually the button is.

Hopefully I didn't delete anything important :winter2019joyfultearssnowman:

Turns out it's actually in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\config.vdf (search for and delete line that says "controller_blacklist").

But if you're reading this, don't bother. It's easier to just go into Big Picture Mode like the another user mentioned.

Dude Thank you so much, it actually help me now, just because in the last Steam Update it seems they removed the option to unhide devices on Big Picture. Thx dude
