PS4 Controller NOT being recognized as an audio device
So, for the longest time, I was able to plug in my PS4 controller, with the stock Sony earbud/microphone connected, to a USB port on my computer and have Steam automatically recognize both the controller and the microphone. My Windows speaker settings also recognized the controller as an output device that was selectable. When I would go to voice chat, I didn't ever have to set up anything nor did I ever change any settings for the PS4-connected headset to recognize as my default audio input device.

However, I recently upgraded my OS drive from a standard sized SSD (120GB) to a newer M.2 SSD and now this is not the case. When I plug my PS4 controller in, the controller still recognizes as a gamepad and functions normally in Steam...but the microphone is not detected in Steam, nor Windows. Additionally, my controller itself no longer appears in my sound settings as an output device.

I've searched all over but can only find issues that people have with their controller ONLY being recognized an audio device. I've tried to go through all of my permissions to allow mic access to applications, updated all the drivers I could think of, and still can't get anywhere. For reference, I'm running Windows 10 64-bit (student edition) on a Gigabyte 970 Gaming SLI mobo with an AMD FX-8350 CPU and a GTX 1080 Gaming X+ GPU. If anyone has ANY suggestions that may get Windows/Steam to recognize my controller and mic as an input device, I would greatly appreciate it. Gaming just isn't the same when you can't communicate....

You need to reinstall all drivers after you move the OS. It can be found on your motherboard model number’s support page. Also small note, you have a good GPU paired with a pretty bad CPU, so prioritize a CPU upgrade first if you decide to.

Thanks for the insight...I will try to reinstall all the drivers listed on the motherboard website and hope it solves the problem. Also, I'm well aware the CPU needa an upgrade...just got too good of a deal on the 1080 and had to jump at it. CPU is definitely my next upgrade

Finally got around to reinstalling all of the drivers from my motherboard's download page but, unfortunately, the problem is still there. Any other suggestions?
