They are of course going to see that you are no longer there.

I do not see grounds for reporting anyone from friends list. It is like your own profile discussion: area of Steam that is managed by user. Moderators do not have much of a reason to intervene to events there.

People won't be able to directly know if you had removed them apart from their friendlist count lowering unless they know their friendlist very well or they searched you up. They will only be notified if they're blocked by you if they try adding you again, or if they try to comment your page(that's if your comments are public) and aren't able to.

Being removed isn't a basis for a report against a user. Even if they reported you they would have nothing to say against you as you did not violate Steam's TOS.

But when you block someone can they actually see that you blocked them ? Or how does that work exactly ?

They won't be able to tell on first sight. Your profile will appear as normal to them. It's only if they try to add you it will give them the error "This user has blocked you". Your comment section if open will be blocked off for them.

If you just have an annoying "friend", then try to talk it out with them.

If someone is actually harassing you, then block them and move on. If they start some rant on open forum, then that is something what either hub or Steam moderators can deal with.

There is no need to be uncomfortable, because someone in the Friends list lost their marbles over something. My own block list is populated by forum trolls and skin advertisers (I don't even play CS:GO...) Usually I never hear from them again, after removing and blocking them.

You should also be able to delete comments on your profile if, you don't want them there. Lately though, Steam seems to want to control your profile more than controlling the forums. They started adding word filters to profile comments of which, that's not here nor, there for them to take part in. It's your profile, not there's and if the owner wants to allow that on their forums, that's their business, not Steams, as long as, it's not on the forums, they should leave well enough alone. Rude & disgusting pictures and/or, artwork should be a concern to Steam, if reported, not what friends have to chat about to each other.

Thank you guys for all your answers, but it isn't really that big of an issue. Was mostly asking in case ever me and friends of mine ever get into heated arguments about games or whatever if anything bad can come out of removing them or maybe even blocking them.

Guys, sorry but forgot to ask something.

Some time ago i removed one of my friends but he has gotten 1 ban since then. Another one of my friends suggested maybe his account was hacked.

I don't know if his account was hacked or not, but i have not blocked him.

Am i at risk if i did not block him ? I mean is my account at risk if i didn't block him ? I mean if someone hacked his account.

VAC ban = cheating in VAC protected game.

Community ban = malicious behavior. Not allowed to trade, or do any other actions with relevant influence.

If it is VAC ban, then I wouldn't yet worry too much. He cheated and paid for it. Perhaps talk to the person and see what is going on?

If it is a community ban, then I would get rid of the person. Either the account is hacked, or the person himself is doing something harmful. You don't want to associate with such account.

In any case:
- do not give out any relevant account information (ever to anyone).
- activate mobile 2FA to keep your account protected by abuse.
- if you are in doubt, change your password and confirm the change with 2FA.

Well it says "1 game ban on record". Don't really know if that's VAC or community ban, i'm guessing it's VAC ban though.

I don't have on my list anymore, but i have not blocked him. Should i have blocked him also ?

No reason to block him, unless he tries to contact you in a suspicious manner.
Mihai_89 Jan 7, 2020 @ 4:50am
Ilija if it says "1 game ban on record" on his profile, that means it's VAC ban right ?

I don't know 100% sure but i'm guessing it's not a community ban.
