PS3 NAV Controller not letting me bind keys.

Before I was using a PS4 controller for my left hand, and mouse in my right hand.
The PS4 controller was seen by Steam just fine, and brought up the typical controller settings screen.
However when I try this with the PS3 NAV controller, its saying it can see it, but when I goto settings, its showing me a photo of something like an XBox controller, and it will not let me bind any keys, it just makes a ding sound any time to try binding ANY thing to ANY button.
I know others have used this controller, so I must be missing something here.

SOLVED
Thought I would share what I figured out in case anyone else runs into this.
Steam controller settings sees a dual shock PS4 controller just fine, even shows you a controller as you click on the buttons to remap them, etc.
But when you try to connect the PS3 NAV controller, it sees it as "Navigation Controller" but when you goto remap buttons, it shows a generic XBox controller, and would not let me map anything.

So, I installed reWASD and with it you can remap buttons to keyboard, mouse or XBox controller commands.
So I just had it remap all the keys on the PS3 NAV controller to XBox controller buttons.
Then when I went back into Steam controller settings, it was seeing it as an XBox controller, and I could map buttons.
