Can't remove games from shopping cart.

So I tried a large purchase at the end of the winter sale, but there was an issue with my card and couldn't fix it before the sale ended. My friend then bought me one of the games that I tried to buy right before the sale ended. Later I saw an email from Steam saying it saved my cart from the failed purchase along with the sale prices for 3 days. I'm trying to repurchase the cart, but it won't let me because that one game is in the cart but already in my library too. It doesn't give me the option to remove the game, so I can't complete the purchase. Please help. I would like to get these games before the cart gets deleted in 36 hours.

Not sure if this will work or not, but i think it might be worth a try if you really want those games.

right click on the row where the game is in the cart and inspect element.
look for the gid, it should look similar to the below:

cart_row_2597346273619837225

you need that id to remove it, then in the console you paste;

removeFromCart('2597346273619837225');

alternative is that you "permanently" delete that one game you got from you friend and then the cart should purchasable as well.
(if you played less than 2 hours in that game your friend could probably request a refund for it)
but try the first suggestion before the second.

I appreciate the attempt. The first solution didn't work and the second solution gave me a message in that cart. So now I can't even click on the "Purchase for myself" button. And I have more than 2 hours in the game.

"Your account already owns a removed copy of the above items, so you can’t purchase them again. You can restore these items via Steam Support, purchase these items as a gift or adjust the contents of your cart to continue."

when you are on the cart page try pasting this url in:

https://store.steampowered.com/checkout/?purchasetype=self

if that does not work, it would seem like you are out of options, since the refund request would be denied because it is past 2 hours.

so you might as well restore the game, you just removed, you do it the same way.

Didn't work. Steam support doesn't do anything for me either. I wish there was some way to actually talk to a person about it. Too bad steam doesn't have that option in support. Thanks again for trying to help. I'm probably just gonna pay the same price for a fraction of the games.
