Last ditch effort to resolve niche non-steam game shortcut issue
So the short of it is, I'm using SRM (steam rom manager) to add shortcuts to steam. I used to add any non steam games manually which presented no issues apart from the work involved.

using SRM was supposed to help me streamline/speed up the process.

If I point steam to a windows shortcut, it translates that shortcut to a path directly to the binary. The shortcut appears just like if i were to add the exe itself.

If I use SRM to add that same windows shortcut, the resulting steam shortcut points directly at the windows shortcut (.lnk) instead.

This creates all kinds of issues remotely. Some games stream to black screens instead of displaying the game and no games ive tried will identify or pass controls.

Since games all bury their exe's to differing depths, in different folders, sometimes with multiples - the only option outside of adding each non steam game individually, is to use a central folder of shortcuts which I do anyways for games in my start menu. It creates the aforementioned issue.

If anyone is familiar with SRM, or can think of a crafty way around it - id be appreciative.
