Steam Downloads Are Crazy Slow
I have a gigabit ethernet connection that gives me about 800 mpbs when I run a speed test. When I try to download something on steam I get less than 3mbps.

Any help for this issue is greatly appreciated.

It's definitely a Steam issue. I also have a gigabit connection. I tried downloading a game last night and the speeds averaged about 1.8 MB/s and varied over a few hours. Origin is giving me 90 MB/s downloads.

Actually it can show either one you choose. And this does not contribute to the discussion.

It is bytes by default and many speed tests use mbs, so there is a decent chance he may have not known the differnce considering the extreme variation between the two numbers listed

Sorry my mistake. My speedtest was in mbps, but my downloads are in mbs. However, a gigabit connection should not be getting less than 3mbs when people with much slower download speeds are getting faster steam download speeds.

My games are downloading very fast until the last less than 1G. I don't know why this keeps happening. It affects updates also. I just bought Jedi Fallen Order and then thing quit downloading at 47/48 Gigs. Same for Dota 2. Made it up till the last Gig and stopped. What's up with this? Anything I can do?
