Where to enter code
I got the authenticator for mobile, because I'm tired of my sales having a 15 day hold.

1) I am logged in on my mobile and click "Steam Guard" and see a code that's counting down.
2) Where do I enter thsi code I see? I am not getting an SMS from Steam or any prompt on where to enter this code.

I have tried to read through the FAQs page, and I understand what's there, but seem to be missing this one point.

Thanks for any help.

That SteamGuard code is asked for when you are logging into a new device. The code changes every 30 seconds, so only someone with access to your phone can access your account, even if someone would somehow know your account name and password.

That code is for logging in to your Steam account.

But I am already logged in. Would I need to log out and log back in, for the desktop app to recognize I am using the Steam Authenticator?

Thanks

No. As you are already logged in, why should you need an Authenticator code?
It is only used for the actual login process.

That was my question. I got that you would need a code TO log-in. I didn't know why it was still showing a code since I was already logged in.

It always shows a code. The app is constantly generating codes so that you can use them when needed.

The code is continuously generated because there is no communication between your phone and Steam servers (at least as far as 2FA is concerned). In order to make sure both sides are using the same info, the codes are generated on a schedule.
