Not Enough Disk Space

So my friend's CSGO just randomly uninstalled and hes been trying to re-download it ever since. However every time he attempts to install it, it says "Not enough disk space". He has tried uninstalling everything else on his pc and that didn't work. He has tried clearing his download cache and that didn't work. His PC says he has 20MB available which is plenty to install csgo. However when he tries to install it steam says that he only has 2MB. Any help would be appreciated and btw he is on a MAC.

I just checked the install on that.

It is 22GB, not MB.

Tell your friend to start shutting down his computer properly, or not forcing Steam closed at shutdown.

He needs to delete his CS:GO folder and redownload the game. His install is corrupt.

When I say 20MB, I mean 20MB of disk space remaining. He obviously has more storage overall

I know; if you have 20MB left back in 1994 that was still a healthy system, but just one year later with the onset of 32-bit multitasking operating systems the tide turned quickly.

I don't think you're getting what everyone else is saying.

20MB is about 2-3 .mp3 files.
My phone takes pictures that are 6-11 MB each.

CS is NOT 20MB, it is an order higher at 22GB.

Still, 20 GB left and trying to install CS:GO is risky. Your friend should clean up more disk space.

For the 2GB 20GB difference, it could be caused by disk fragmentation. Please launch disk defragmenter for that spesific disk.

Is this possible to do on MAC? Because the big problem really is that he uses a 6 year old Mac book with little storage and etc. He can barely play csgo on about 50fps. I've told him to get a new pc but he says he wont be able to for like anther 6 months or maybe longer.

Defrag doesn't free up any space; it just consolidates it so new files don't get fragmented.
