Can't sign into google/youtube account on steam overlay.
Google has introduced this new nonsense which prevents users from signing into google accounts via the overlay browser as it is "not verified" and is a "less secure app". There is an option in your google account to allow sign in through less secure apps but even with that enabled, sign in is still prevented via the steam browser. Anyone having this problem too/can help?

You can only link videos through web browser now. At this point, the only thing that can be done in regards to Youtube's incompatibility with Steam is to petition to Valve about supporting alternative video clients. Bitchute and Rumble come to mind in this regard
Considering that a Chromium update is the reason why Steam won't be supported on Windows 7 soon, can anyone confirm whether or not the one platform and nothing else is usable on Steam again?
I've been having this same problem myself here, with having linked my YouTube account successfully and making sure that all my videos had the 'video embedding' option tick and are public alongside being recently published. (Have tried to tinker with the 'Less Secure App Access' option from the Google account side of things, but have found that is now locked since May of 2022)

Despite getting further with the website than I did with the Steam App, which won't even let me attempt to link the account, (strange that it acts as if I do not have a YouTube account linked, even though the website goes about things as if I have done so) any attempts to upload a video, be it categorized or not, result in the webpage seemingly refreshing itself and having no signs of the video being accepted or even attempted to upload.

Have waited several hours on my end, in case it needed time to upload what was only a couple of minutes long video, but nothing has came up on my end here.

Was hoping to find answers or solutions to this problem, as it seems I may just not be able to upload any videos from YouTube over to Steam here, with that being the only option at the moment.
Not until Valve drops Win 7 and 8 support to finally update the browser. So, at least January 2024.

Nothing is going to change until Valve updates the Chromium to support it. That will happen after they drop support for Win 7 & 8 next year, at the least.

I still think the fact that this has been an issue for three years and counting should highlight the inadequacy of supporting only YouTube and nothing else. If Rumble was supported by Steam, we would not be having this conversation

We would, because YouTube not working is a symptom of the problem, not the other way around. Steam Browser is so outdated that even the author of its own architecture, Google, won't touch it anymore, and it's being used by various games to conduct secure transactions. That's a serious problem, and inexcusable for a company whose only job these days is literally this.
I logged in to YouTube in the web browser Steam, but the Steam app says I can't log in. how do i solve it?

You don't. Most we can do is make a suggestion regarding support for Rumble and other video sites.

It's only a matter of time before Rumble would stop working too. The problem isn't YouTube, it's Steam browser being too out of date to be secure.
Yeah all mine says is "This browser or app may not be secure. Try using a different browser. If you’re already using a supported browser, you can try again to sign in." and idk why I've look up everything and nothing helps

The result of supporting the one platform and nothing else. I still think Valve should consider adding Rumble support and for shorter uploads, video tweets

As has been stated time and time again, that will not fix the problem. The problem is that Steam browser is too out of date to be secure, and in time, even Rumble will stop supporting logins from it. Steam browser needs to be updated.
