Festivity tokens

Don't understand this. Sometimes I have earned a discount off game purchases in the steam store, sometimes not. There doesn't seem to be a pattern.

I now have 10 000 tokens, and I have no idea which game purchases they can be applied to.

Tokens can't be applied to games directly. You can spend 5,000 tokens to get the voucher for money off. The voucher can be applied when you are in the checkout stage of a purchase. It'll be applied for any purchase whether it's £2 or £100. You can only buy and use the money off coupon once. So it you've already spent 5,000 points on the coupon and used it you can't do it again.

If you've already used the 5k to claim the one-off discount and are overloaded with remaining tokens, you can buy cosmetic stuff here https://store.steampowered.com/holidaymarket like backgrounds and emotes plus you can unlock the alternative winter badge. Token usage is very limited though and these cannot be used on stuff in the Steam Store itself.

It can only be used once.

1. Coupon apply only to yourself, can't gift anyone with it, and won't work if you add an game you already own, if you're trying to gift that to someone.

2. Coupon can only be redeem once, there no extra coupon you can get.

3. Your tokens will be deducted when you click apply coupon, in the cart, and when you check out, if you do not check out, you will not use tokens, which you should check out before wasting tokens on emotes, and etc...

It's safe to assume they be gone, as no one know if they be reused, or they do a renewal system for the Lunar sale in February, where everyone starts back at 0. But if you want to take a chance, to see if they reuse the tokens from winter sale, then just hope they do when Lunar sale happens.

But do note you will miss out on the emotes, and etc as they be gone forever, just like the other sales, as none of the emotes from each of the following years ever return.

on the emotes market, "These reusable items are now available for use without expiration!"

does that mean i can reuse them but only during holidays? eg: xmas, chinese lunar new year, thanksgiving and they won't be available to use during the normal time? :o

You can use these at any time without them expiring i.e disappearing from your inventory.

The emotes you see for 100 tokens each, didn't change, they were always permanent for your use when you get them, so you can use them anytime of the year as much as you like, but do note you can't remove them from account, so they're on your account forever.

The one that they did change where the ones called stickers which cost 500 tokens each, as the stickers were animated gif, which were set to last until the event ended, but they changed their mind, and made them permanent, so you can use them all year long, just like emotes, do note they also remain with you permanently on your account.

There chat effects which are 1000 tokens each, has a 30 use, then it's gone, it remains with you forever until you use them up 30 times, then it's gone from your account.
