Steam keeps crashing when installing games

So I bought a game called Boneworks and tried to download it, then it got to 5% and steam crashed. I have enough space to download it. How do I fix this?

Add Steam to your firewall and AV list of execptions. What do you mean Steam crashed? Does it actually crash or does the download stop? How much space is on the drive you’re trying to install? And is it the OS drive?

And what are your system specs please?

Whenever I try to continue the download, steam stops responding. Most of the time steam crashes after this. I have 1.02 TB free on the hard drive i'm trying to install the game on.

Alright. System specs? Could you add Steam to your AV and firewall whitelists and see if that helps? Does installing anything to that drive have issues or just this game?

I have a GTX 1060 graphics card, i7-7700 Processor, and 16.0 GB RAM. I already tried adding steam to my antivirus and firewall and that didn't work.
