so my friend forgot his steam pasword so when he try's ti have it reset to his email it says email not found and username not found

My friend s account has been a pain for him since he got a computer and it wont let him log into origin but we are not talking about that, a day ago he tried to log into his account he made in the past but he forgot his password so when he tries to send a recovery email it says account not found or name not found. i've looked around yt but i found no fixes. it also be great if someone helped us out with origin saying tech problems please try again later with both registering and logging in.

Origin has nothing to do with Steam.

Also your friend must know his login username, or email at the very least, if he does not know either one, then how can support help him? You're asking them to find a account among hundred millions of accounts with Origin, while on Steam it's over a billion.

On Steam login username can not be changed period, there no option to changing it, if he doesn't know his login name, either he thinking of the wrong account name, or he never made one.

I find the opening post to be a tad confusing. Are we talking about an account on Origin or about a Steam account?

In case of a Steam account, if the account name isn't found, then your friend is using the wrong account name. Display name and account names are different, tell your friend to look in his email for purchase mails from Steam, they have the account name in it.

Hence either wrong name, or he never made one, if this is for recovering Steam account, if not found by login username. If he giving you his display name, that not the same as his login name, as display name are only a display, and can be changed to whatever, and whenever, and no it can not be used to finding the account either, only by email that's on the account, or login username, which login username is a permanent name, and can't not be changed.

If this is an Origin account with EA, he need to take it up with EA.

yep that was the problem and told him thanks to both of you for helping us out! and sorry about the start of it where its confusing. long story short he cant log into origin either and it stays something about technical difficulties please try later when he attempts to log in.
