How to add a friend to remote play - set filter for your games that work

Check Steam> settings >Remote Play is enabled.
Check what games you have that support remote play.
Requires a game with controller support. even if you dont use it it works for the quest.

This game works and is free to play 95 megs downloads just load to main menu invite Friends with the same game. Thanks to Glimmer for sharing it.

Why is it that specific game is getting shared SO MUCH, it really .... seems like a planted thing to me.

Just filter for the games you already own. It doesn't even have to be a multiplayer game - witness portal 1 is on that list.

The games I had filtered were either uninstalled or my friends didnt own a copy the same or they had there's uninstalled as well. We all know some games are huge downloads..
So I figured that game is a small download for this purpose since both parties need the same game and it worked for me.

Just a heads up for anyone reading this. Both people don't need the game to be installed. Any game that supports remote play together will work, just start the game and send an invite through Steam overlay, they don't even need to be online and you can cancel the invite after a couple seconds to complete the quest.

Well it worked for me and I got that advise in another thread. Did you use a game that supports "Remote play together", not just "Remote play"? I just started "1001 spikes", opened the overlay, right clicked a friends name and selected "remote play together", I then canceled the invite and the quest was done.

No I didn't have one installed and the one I used didn't support. And my friends didn't have it either I explained it in my top comment :)

Ok fair enough, but for anyone that has a game that supports "Remote play together", they don't both need to have the game. I'm surprised that with over 100 games you don't have one that supports it, but I see what you are saying. Some f2p games like Brawlhalla support "Remote play together", but it's about 400 megs instead of 100.

edit: I was a little confused and missed you saying you didn't have one installed, and that you did indeed show to search for games with RMT, but in the end I was able to do a quest without my friend owning the same game, and that is all I was trying to point out.

lol read my words they were uninstalled. You can see them in my screenshot Filters. I was not prepared to download 60 gig game for this quest. The game I listed was 95 megs and free.
The MP game I tried was the Forest but doesn't support remote play.
All good we all learning new stuff we probably never would have used.

I simply said you can do the quest without both parties having a RMT game. I did indeed miss the part about you not having one installed.

Your post mentioned they didn't have the same game, I was pointing out they don't need to have the game for RMT, that's all.

please refer to screenshot above Goblin Workshop, you should see invite to Remote Play when you rightclcik friend.
Steam worded the quest incorrectly. Lobby doesn't work . Use a game that has remote play . Please see the top of my discussion screenshots to filter Your games that support it.
