Refund and rebuy
Hi,
I just wanted to know something about refund. I wanted to buy Elder Scrolls Online. So I bought the base game thinking that I could upgrade later with Elsweyr upgrade. But then I realized that if I bought from the start the big pack "Elsweyr", I would pay a little less than buying the base game + upgrade.. and on top of that, I would get an extra DLC that is not incldued with the upgrade. So I decided to ask for a refund on base game and instead i'll buy the bigger pack. I was watching videos as downloading base game and decided that I would probably play enough to make it worths it.

Question is: can i buy the bigger pack now even if the refund wasn't already processed? Cuz i'm more than half way done with that 85gb download and i would not like to stop it and start over. But i'm afraid buying the bigger pack (that includes the base game aswell) could ♥♥♥♥ up the system.

Do you think there is any danger of technical issue if i buy it asap? Cuz in my shopping cart, Steam warns me that i wont get a second copy of ESO base game (which i dont care really lol). But are they only warning people about the fact they wont be able to have a second copy for gifting? or is it more complex than just this?
thanks for help :D

You'll have to wait for the refund to be accepted(and thus, the game to be removed from your library) if you want to buy a pack with the same game in it.

Meh :(
That should be instand refund.. i didnt even finished download lol.. that's kinda ridiculous.. isn't those automated usually? I remember having my refund almost instantly in the past.

The fact i'm still downloading, is it preventing refund? cuz if yes then i'll finish my download, make a save of the steam folder of the game then i'll uninstall it so steam can consider i'm not using it or anything.. maybe it'll help with refund?

I did the same exact thing. Bought the Base Game with Morrowind. Then seen the Elsweyr upgrade. Found out it did not include Summerset. And once locked in, the only way to get Summerset is to use Crowns in game currency.

If you buy Elsweyr Digital Collector’s Edition (Currently $26.39) or The Elder Scrolls Online - Elsweyr (Currently $19.79) it includes Summerset.

Skip the The Elder Scrolls Online - Elsweyr upgrade that does NOT include Summerset (Currently $13.19) and skip The Elder Scrolls Online Standard Edition (currently $7.99)

Also note. My Steam folder is on separate drive due to space requirements of TESO.
It currently sits with a App ID of 306130. And its over 85 gigs big. There are two App ID's for TESO online. One is 925100 the other 306130.

It may all need to redownload. It may not. I am waiting on the refund to deposit into my Steam Wallet (24 hour) flag. From the Base game and the Upgrade. $22 and some change.

Then I will buy the Elsyweyr Digital Collector's Edition that includes all DLC's. ($26.39)

It will suck if you have to redownload the entire thing again. 100 gigs is no joke.

I saved the folder and uninstalled. My refund is pending in my wallet so they accepted my request,i just need to wait for the money. I hope I'll get it soon.

Also, i hope you're right about the download. I don't want to redownload 85gb :(

Game is playable after the Refund. I had renamed my SteamLibrary folder to SteamLibrary1. This made the Steam App make a second folder that was virtually empty (Since I had it set to custom hard drive area/directory). I deleted the newer one. And renamed SteamLibrary1 back to SteamLibrary. It works. Saved having to redownload.

Bought the $26.39 (Elsweyr Digital Collector’s Edition) but could have just gotten the $19.79 (The Elder Scrolls Online - Elsweyr ) but the extra goodies looked ok. Since I had them refund me the money to the Steam Wallet I figured go ahead.

Game loads fine. Now to conquer the Internet Disconnect issues.

I'm still waiting on my money... It's really funny when i read message of people saying that processing digital transactions can take alot of time... i mean, you know:

when i buy something -> time for them to take my money = instant
when i want a refund -> time for them to give back money = 24h to 7days

but yes lol, it takes time to process transaction.. the time just vary depending on how much it's suiting them :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

It's not really how it works. When you buy something, your bank put a hold on your money and then, it is tranferred to the seller. The seller doesn't get your money instantly after the purchase. Banking takes time.

If you refunded to your Steam Wallet, it should be faster. If you refunded to a bank account(like a credit card), it'll most likely take several days for you to get the money back on the account.

I tried all possible ways but the game just refuse to see the folder is not empty.. what a dumb software making me waste my time with another tedious 87gb download -_-

edit: think i found a way to make it work.. i hope so... :S
many people says you have to start the download to make steam create folder but nop, just put it there then start the download.. when creating first files, it'll magically realize it's not empty and then check the files before downloading.. hopefully it'll skip most or all download!

In all my shenanigans with my issues. I had already completed the entire download. I believe. There WAS some patching that took place with the Game Launcher itself not thru Steam but the ESO Laucher.

I refunded to my Steam Wallet also because at the time I was limited on my bank account and had enough to cover it before the sale ends on Jan 2, 2020. But waited patiently and it took 24 on the second.

I repurchased what I listed above. $26.39 (Elsweyr Digital Collector’s Edition) and had put a extra $5 on my Steam Wallet. And when I checked out. I was like $0.52 short. LOL And they added it on the Debit Card.

So first charge was $8.47 (For ESO Base with Morrowind) then $13.98 (With Elsweyr only) I had read about Elsweyr Upgrade NOT having Summerset. Requested Refund to Wallet then waited. In the mean time I put $5 on the Wallet because I decided I wanted to do the Elsweyr Digital Collector’s Edition (Even though I originally was just gonna do the under $10 boogie on ESO) But then got to thinking "In for a Penny In for a Pound" Especially since it was a good deal on it all.

Honestly had my fingers crossed that I would not have to redownload it all. Glad it worked out.
