Tool to clean/delete unreferenced game files from game manifest .acf file?
Does anyone know of a tool to clean unreferenced game files from Steam game folders via the games .acf manifest file? Something that will verify and delete anything in the game folder that shouldn't be there would be a great help. An example would be to clean up a game folder that has "Mods" installed or leftover files from a patch, etc...

I have tried "Steam Game Preservation" but couldn't get it to connect to the servers to download the depots (file list, hash, etc..). "Steam Library Manager" works for cleaning up leftover installs in the "common" folder by deleting any file/folder that doesn't have a manifest file (*.acf).

If a Steam dev is reading this, this would be a great checkbox option when verifying the game files.

you should talk with game own forum, mods can be part of save games content and folder as left overs and that mean a total wipe of current game folder included user data area + cloud should be stop so it dont restore content. ( even workshop subscribe should be follow instead )

( this is best option so you dont harm or reset all other games that has nothing todo with some games that has been change or converted depend on the mods ofc.

so as you see just uninstall reinstall is not possible anymore , alot of forced ways to make a clean original install is required.
