gifting too many games in steamstore results in a ban?
so heres what happened im a person who rlly likes giving away stuff randomly (no you cant add me except you played "DI: E") or more like when i wanna play a game which is played mostly coop i gift the same game multiple times to some ppl in my friendslist. 3 weeks ago i wanted to buy some games for a couple ppl and got an error after setting the the gift and it leads me to the steam support after telling the problem they made it back to normal(it even seemed like i was talking to a human and not like copy paste bot texts) so i tested it bought a gift and send it. done. BUT the problem accured again so i was forced to ask the steam support about this again... surprisingly i just got to talk to one of the steam support copy paste bots who dont even want to solve any problems just want you to deny talking to them.. the message was this one:

"We have detected unusual gifting activity on this account.

Using your Steam account for commercial purposes violates the Steam Subscriber Agreement and may result in the account being locked."

So im not making any money out of this its more like im losing money so they kinda screw themselves by denying me buying stuff through the steam store... i dont even know how i could possibly make money there because the gift is getting straight to the ppl..

So heres my question: how can ppls with this behaivior get into this and is there some kind of algorithm which sorts some activity like this out and just ban ppl for buying too many gifts? and if so i still want to be able to get it unbanned because i rlly dont know what ive done wrong and why the steam support doesnt want to help me... i dont even know why i have to deal with this

the only option left for me is sending steam giftcards through the steam shop and tell the ppl to purchase a certain game from the shop which is totally bs imo so why shouldnt i be able to gift it straight to the ppl...

this is a default message everyone gets, you can do either write to support tell them to lift this wallet restriction and explain you are not doing anything commercially which might take a few back and forth responses to get them to lift the restriction on your steam wallet or you can use another payment method other than your steam wallet to buy these game ie paypal, or a credit card, don't tank up on steam wallet.

if you want to gift someone something right now, you can use any other payment method than steam wallet and it should gift the game(s) to the person you want to them gift them to.

If you gift that often and randomly give things away might be better to send a digital gift card. Your Steam account cannot be used for commercial purposes, the algorithms think this is happening: person 1 orders a game from you, you gift them the game.

They'd rather ban the one nice guy than let the 99 less nice guys sell games through the gifting system. It sucks, but your gifting spree is over. I also can't recommend using another account to get around this. Getting your accounts fully restricted and all payment methods banned makes it really hard to continue using Steam.

this is a default message everyone gets, you can do either write to support tell them to lift this wallet restriction and explain you are not doing anything commercially which might take a few back and forth responses to get them to lift the restriction on your steam wallet or you can use another payment method other than your steam wallet to buy these game ie paypal, or a credit card, don't tank up on steam wallet.

if you want to gift someone something right now, you can use any other payment method than steam wallet and it should gift the game(s) to the person you want to them gift them to.

Well, if there is no response from support or moderator, then this is your answer. Sorry, we know it sucks, but this is the only answer we can give.

I believe they are seeing the volume of game copies from their store and then have some system make the judgement, otherwise if not a system to take the judgement, it would be manually reviewed, but then again I personally do think they should consider to over look your account further and take correct measures, otherwise it could harm their way of people using their service etc.

well gotta test the purchase straight via paypal since i havent even thought about switching the payment method and i dont think ill bother the steam support with this anymore or more wasting my time for getting the copy paste stuff :D gonna let you know the result and if its not working i still got the giftcard option :like_this:

I still suggest sending a few responses through support, since they obviously are hitting the common man with this silly restriction to the steam wallet funds.
better to have it lifted than have it stay there and give valve some sort of validation this restriction made any sense when it is just silly.

+ the more people that actually write steam support and gets it lifted might help others in the long run.
Valve might see support is getting swamped, by these silly tickets and eventually might revert this restriction on steam wallet.
I doubt they will revert but you can hope.

ye it rlly sucks and i even have contacted them 3 times now they answered 2 times now and thats funny if i talk in a funny way the support starts acting like a human if you want to go sort this out they come with the copy paste way and even tells you you wont get any response to this anymore :D i still have the 3rd one open but i dont think theyll response to it :/ i will send you the way i wrote both texts

everyone i have seen, which has been persistent in writing to support not accepting to be affiliated with the allegations, valve/support has thrown at them has got the restriction removed.

and on top of that, they receive more sass, as in a sort of intimidation and you having to be grateful for them lifting the restriction, when you haven't even done anything wrong.

i am not saying you should be harsh but don't think they did you a solid one, they are the ones that are making a mistake and if anything they should be grateful for having you.
note: my language is set to german but i prefer using english

soooo i wanted to buy another few games to gift them but apparently i cant it simply say again that theres something going wrong and thats it.
I had the same issue with other games and asked the support. they fixed it but the same thing happened again and here i am again :D so this time its not solving the one problem but solving the whole problem because i dont want to come back again and again :D sooo pls fix the whole thing and thank youuu merry x mas

imo every support is doing a great job by sending individual texts and not this copy paste ♥♥♥♥ :D
but yea youre right the 3rd support message did the thing they lifted my account now again and im very thankful for that. its just how they approach you if they do like in the 2nd message to the support it simply has nothing to do with support and im fairly new to asking the support about stuff but nevertheless they were fast not like what i heard...well everyone has to decide on their own i will show you the 3rd message i wrote and the answer i got
