Cant refund a game i played on a free trial
I played a game on a free trial and racked up about 16 hours of playtime. I just bought the game but the game no longer works.
Ive tried saying in the notes that i played it in the past but i still cant get a refund. im honestly getting pissed off because money is an issue for me.
Anyone know how to make sure i can get my case reviewed by a human not by a robot?

Here is how to request a refund outside the limits.

Log in to the Steam client - click on help at the top of the screen - click on Steam Support - click on 'Purchases' - click on the game - "I have a question about this purchase" - explain the issue politely.

Don't play the game at all until you have received an answer.

Asking for the refund to go to your wallet seems to help

Free trial doesnt have a refund??
You cant get money back when no money has been paid .
Refund is based on purchase.
So it is nonsense to think anything prior to the initial purchase would have effect.

i bought the game a few months after the trial had ended
welcome to the club of no refund games by steam. One advice play only 1 hour that way you may get a chance to refund and yet they may not refund your purchase.

Complete BS.
I must have refunded at least 50 titles over the years and i got the refund granted for every single one.
And do you know why? Because i played them less then 2 hours and the purchase was not older then 14 days ago.
You know, AS STATED IN THE REFUND POLICY.

If you fulfill the requirements you 100% ALWAYS will get a refund.
Unless you are abusing the system.

There are different regions policies and there is not always 100% refund with them.

Your regional policies are irrelevant as long as Valve accepts the refund requests.

No there is not, valve has a standard refund policy and they honor it 100% of the time.

Refunds are 100% if you've bought the game within 2 weeks and have less then 2 hours of playtime. Per the refund rules that clearly indicates free trials, family sharing, etc as well. So the OP can manually request a refund and Steam usually has a good track record with those but its not guaranteed as he does not meed the refund criteria.

Point out in your ticket that the playtime was for the free weekend.
