For some reason payment did not go through, now I have unposted transaction in bank
Hi, so I was buying games for approx 9 €, but transaction did no go through even though I had enough funds on bank account. I made transaction 2 days ago.
I checked my internet banking and bank lists transaction as unposted, I called there and they said that I have to wait 15 days since transaction occured to receive my money back.
Right now it is up to steam as to whether it will go through or not, if it will not then bank will take bank the funds. It cannot go through since transaction was denied by steam upon purchase.

So, I want to ask, I read about cases where there were banned accounts when someone bought something through steam and then pulled money back.
Is this the same case? I did not receive those games when I tried buying them, Steam said that there was a problem when buying games so he cannot process it.
So then after 15 days once bank pulls the money back, will nothing happen to my account?
There should not since Steam denied payment.
Thanks

No it's not the same as a chargeback. The transaction simply failed whereas a chargeback is forcibly taking the money back from Steam.

You're fine. The money has technically not left your account, it's just being held by your bank.

guys, so, is it same with paypal?
I made that (failed) purchase through paypal account, so should I just wait those 2 weeks until money returns to my bank account?
I looked at this failed purchase and steam mentions there something about contacting paypal.
Basically problem happened at paypals side, it seems.
But I dont have to contact them, right? I worry paypal would see it as chargeback or something, even though it is only a failed purchase, and according to my bank money should return after 2 weeks anyways.

Well, I have not received games since purchase failed and bank lists payment as unposted. Payment was done through paypal.
I have not contacted paypal yet, what do you suggest then? Just wait 2 weeks and I will be fine?

You could do as they ask and contact PayPal support about why the purchase didn't succeed. They'll probably just tell you to contact Steam though. Or you could use a different payment method to complete your purchase.

If all you want is your money returned, you should simply wait the hold to expire.

Ok, I will wait for hold to expire then.
I opened a steam ticket as well when I started this topic, little bit later is when I found out what steam says about paypal.
Still, I mentioned that transaction failed and the rest, perhaps they will officially refer me to paypal, or tell me to wait 2 weeks.

Polite, one more question.
In my case, which was failed purchase, I should be all right if I decided to contact paypal and tell them to cancel the payment, because it failed anyway, right?
Bans happen only in cases where games were received and chargeback happened afterwards, right? This is not my case since payment did no pass through.
