Help with opening ports
So apparently I need to open ports to be able to play stardew valley without the massive lag with friends "According to devs and other people"

but I have a problem with them not wanting to open at all

https://gyazo.com/173cc567f6ecf050422c23f2b2203628
this screenshot shows what im doing there

There are so many options and I am unsure which ones the games would need, not a single guide i was able to find explained anything about those and the only one I know is FTP

I also used some online websites to check if the ports are open after trying that and it always says port is closed

obviously in that screenshot i deleted all of them to try to redo it over so no current ports are done

I didnt post this in stardew valley forum cuz its not just that game
I want to be able to open ports in general hence why im posting here

Also when it says "UDP" but gives one port and not one beginning and one end number
how do i insert that value when it needs me to insert 2

Which port needs to be opened?

Also make sure you're logged into the router as admin.

have you follow each router guide , we dont know what you have, some router use entry like this 4545,5455,6546 other do scope range 4000-4200 or both

try locate own router and see if that can give you a clue

application leave blank

protocol select "TCP/UDP"

You enter the same UDP for start and end, i.e. 24642 for both for Stardew Valley

IP stays 0.0.0.0

if IP stays 0.0.0.0 it gives me an error
says I must write one

I assume I write my local one aka 192.168.1.XXX and leave it to stay static so it never changes as im the only one using my network anyway

locate your model, maybe you will get right information there.

Make sure no entry covers another.
Read the manual of router

what i dont get is, if use NAT then most port should be getting through automatic , only windows firewall need approval with that game.exe allowed through.

Read about port forward for the router.
It should be a list.
Do not use DMZ. That opens all.

Always have a running firewall on pc anyway.

all those port is above 1024

Stardew Valley - Steam

TCP: 27015-27030,27036-27037
UDP: 4380,24642,27000-27031,27036

if this dont work possible windows firewall dont ask you maybe that application get on network then you run the game.
