Steam taking up 100% CPU
When Steam launches, it takes up 100% CPU. This also happens when going into Big Picture Mode or when starting a game. In the latter two, it doesn't stop. It should be noted that it is actually the game that takes up the CPU, but steam CPU goes up with it, even when I launch the game through my files.

Does Steam persistently use 100% CPU or only when starting? It's normal for any program to have very high CPU usage when first starting but it should usually lower down over time
Another thing, Steam takes up about 594 MB of memory when running. My computer doesn't have a lot of space, so yes that is a lot for me.

When its starting, Always during big picture mode, and always when a game is active.

Turn on low performance mode in library settings. The new library update has affected Steam's memory usage quite a bit
Settings>Library>Low performance mode

When it's starting it's normal. What is the exact percentage of CPU usage Steam is using while a game is active? And what is the game's CPU usage?
Solved. Turns out my computer wasn't updated and I'm stupid.
