I don't know why. My name was the same for about 3 years and nothing was wrong with my profile picture. I am scared to change them back and have my account banned or removed or something.

To my knowledge, moderators do these things when a report is made. Nobody reporting it for 3 years doesn't mean it's not offensive, it just means nobody has reported it...

In this day and age it's better to be as bland and inoffensive as possible. Doesn't matter that it wasn't a problem for years the "culture" changed and now companies are bending over backwards to not offend anyone lest they get crucified on twitter.

your name and profile got reported, theirs didnt. if you find inappropriate names and/or avatars, report them and move on. you should only be worried about what is on your profile, not someone else's

You know very well what that stands for. Your profile and the groups you're in are also textbook cases of someone trying to see how far they can take things just for fun. Don't act offended when action is taken when clearly your goal is to see how long you can skirt the rules while still being able to claim plausible deniability.

Did you actually get a ban or did they just change and reset your name and profile pic? I don't think you would get banned for it or anything. Someone probably found it offensive and went after you. You didn't do anything wrong so don't take it personally. Probably best to play it safe for now and maybe alter your name and pfp, but you should be fine to revert back to the og. You can obviously contact Steam Support, but when I tried that they gave me a complete community ban so I don't recommend it. There is no arguing or debating with a mod. They won't help you.

I can change my name but not my profile pic until 28 Dec, 2019 @ 12:19am
