Yellow Dot on Emoticon Icon - Steam Chat

There's a yellow dot on the emoticon icon that won't go away, even after restarting steam.
How do I get rid of this?

I think that used to be for new emoticons added to your inventory.

View the entire list of emotes (in the chat) and / or use the new ones in the chat.

See if it then dissapears.

There have been a few reports of the new emoticon light showing up despite no new emoticons. Maybe some dataset get reset causing it to show. It'll probably just go away on its own once enough time has passed that nothing could be new anymore.

Yeah, i just followed up on a few threads within the past hours about that issue.

Using the emote in the chat will review the indicator within the list itself, though.

I was looking for the answer to this exact question, although there is no newly added expression, I see the yellow light in the edit profile section, but it does not appear in the chat window.
