Steam link akp mirror on Amazon Fire Stick question

I got the steam link app on my amazon fire stick and paired it with a xbox one controller. I want to play wow on it and so I added wow as a non-steam game to my steam account on my PC. Everything is working but I have to use a wowmapper (external software) to connect the controller and map the keyboard to the controller. The problem is when I have to disconnect the controller from wowmapper to connect it to the steam link app to my tv and then my controls get all wack. Anyone else have this issue? Ideas? thoughts?

Why not use the Steam input stuff to map your controller to the keyboard? It works fine for all other keyboard only games.

Try and see if you can get it work with just steam input and the controller and not the app first. just controlling on your PC.
