Friend is now Playing
How do i turn the notification that tells me a friend is playing a game? The problem I am having is someone is playing Monster Hunter and steam is literally telling me this with the popup every 10 sec. Telling me to ask my friend to hide his activity is not an acceptable answer either. If there is no way to turn it off myself then this is a huge problem. Not cool Steam, not cool!

This would be a global setting which can be adjusted via the Friends+Chat.

Click on the Setting's Gear icon top right of the F+C box and once that is done, Notifications should be seen on the left panel.

Thanks, I couldnt even see that gear because my friend chat is glitched with some kind of cascading effect of overlapping text.

Glad you got it sorted.

You can still watch the names bounce in and out of your friends list's new "Everyone playing this game" group. This is forking annoying.

I think it's only Monster Hunter

I have the same issue, specifically with monster hunter. I see three different friends constanly (every one or two minutes) "now playing Monsterhunter".
