Why can't see friends playing off-steam-games

That worked sometime ago, but now they like not even in friend list, why cancle the idea to see off-steam-games that friends playing?

That only works if those friends have added these games as non Steam games to their library.
Only if you launch the games like that way will they display in your friend list.
Just tried it and still works fine.

Only difference seems to be the new chat client does not label them "non Steam games" but just displays the title like for any other Steam game.

so i need to have the off-steam-game for it?

exemple: Player1 Playing "In non-Steam game
Fallout 4" - seen only by his profile.

now to find him need look for the nickname to see, not on "online" not in "offline" and not in-game Tag. some time ago even with new steam settings is worked, now more blind.

Ah yeah, i get what you mean. Steam Chat now sorts your friends by the games they currently play and i dont think they count non Steam games for that.
That could indeed be a problem.

yep, thanks for understanding, wish they can fix it, even "starcraf2" can't see as off-steam-game

there are a lot of good games friends playing that we never know they even playing that, yep as new steam settings in edit section.

just strange thing think they missing from your friend-list while playing something already.
