No config.cfg!

I want to save my settings such as viewmodel, crosshair, and HUD. After watching 3/4 guides on YT, all of which involve a config.cfg file, i have discovered i don't have one called that. To find this i went through C:/Program Files/Steam/userdata/<accountid>/730/local/cfg/config. Am I doing something wrong or is something not as it's supposed to be?

I think it locate under steam/steamapp/common/counter strike global offensive/csgo

Is that not the old location? After the csgo i go to 'config' file and there is no config.cfg. There are however files called config_default and config.360, no config.cfg :(

well, you can look into config_default (open with notepad) and then save it as config.cfg (with file extension enable)

if you want it load everytime you launch the game, try auto_config.cfg (idk what was that name)
It will launch your config when game loaded.

What I'm trying to do is have several configs that I exec in certain situations so I can just type 'exec <name>' in console to change the settings of the match. So for grenade practice etc.

yah, you use notepad, write down the codes and save it as (filename).cfg

then you can load then with "exec (filename)

So your will be like <filename>.cfg instead of <filename>
the file format you save might be <filename>.cfg.txt , so the game wont read it

and remember to restart the game.

or you can try open one of the .cfg file, clear the text and paste your commands, then save as other name. It should in .cfg format

In order to edit file extensions in Windows 10, you need to change the File Explorer settings to display file extensions first. Open File Explorer in Windows 10 or any folder on your computer hard drive, then switch to the View tab in upper menu to view ribbon menu. Click to check the box before File name extensions option to enable file extension display in Windows 10. Now you can see those hidden file extensions in Windows explorer.

nvm, got my configs finally execing and all functioning, thanks for the help :)
