Issue with multiple instances of steam webhelper running

Basically the topic for some reason i have 5 instances of webhelper running and anytime i try to close any of them out they instantly pop back up, i cant post a picture but this is when im in task manager just to be clear, pressing end task does nothing they come right back up, not sure if that link will work, thanks for any help in advance.

Simply set Steam Settings to launch to Library, Set Library to low performance mode. Every once in a while restart Steam Client.

Once a month go into steam settings and delete download cache and also web browser cache.

What doesn't work? All you have to do is restart steam every once in a while, problem solved.

Use your regular browser to surf the web and steam sites instead of the client.

How much RAM do you have if it's sucking up all of it?

I feel like you're either already low or have other problems like malware or just too much bloat going on.

Ram shouldn't be of any concern. If it is something is wrong or you need more ram. Everyone by now should have 16gb minimum, it is almost 2020 folks and 16gb of ram is below $60, get with it already

It uses so much that I have trouble playing the games they sell me.

So leave? When this was made 8GB was still the most common amount of memory and Steam doesn't even take up 10% of that on average.

well slightly but not to old topic brought back up...

read people saying have steam load into "library view" so it doesnt load up those extra "webhelpers".

that is incorrect, they will load up no matter how you have steam load up.

mine loads up 7 "webhelpers" even with steam set to load directly into "library view" and not opening anything in steam aside from it loading to "library view"and the nonsense popup with store sales that they force when loading up steam.

on the topic of its memory usage, steam uses a ton of memory and can be upwards of 1-2GB depending on friends list and amount of games you own.

steam needs to drastically optimize their app, it should not be using that much memory and yes w/e amount of memory it does use can cause issues while gaming/streaming.

it not only has a percentage set in ram but can take up paging file as well, not only ram/ect.., as well as a low to high amount of vram (300MB or more) depending on "gpu acceleration" enabled.

again higher or lower depending on size of friends list and amount of games in your library.

it also has an issue with cpu spiking (quite wildly i might add) anywhere from 10-15%, sometimes higher just by mousing over stuff on the app or scrolling stuff which brings it up to 20% or more.

only when exiting steam and restarting the computer does it release ram/vram and also lets the cpu idle normally without wild spikes.

The relevance is that in reality you don't need to be 'a richy rich kid with an awesome nerdy gaming computer, that your mom bought' to afford an adequate amount of RAM.
