Steam controller batteries stuck!

My steam controller batteries aren't ejecting all the way when I push the tab! I was able to pry them out with a butter knife, but that's going to drive me nuts. Any solutions?

I don't know what it physically looks like, but is there a pull tab like a small piece of cloth? usually for snug battery compartments other devices will put a little strip of cloth in so you can lay it under the battery and pull up when you need to remove them. I'd say, if it didn't come with that (first: ... ugh) maybe try a small bit of glue and add your own.

No, it's a plastic button that you push up to release the batter from each of the sides. If it does not work, it is very hard to get the batteries out.
