Installing Steam on a Micro SD Card?
Hi, I was thinking of playing Steam on a Lenovo laptop that I've got recently. However since that storage size is really small (Max is 56.9 GB), I was thinking of using a micro SD card which is 128 GB to install Steam on so I don't have to use so much space on my laptop.

But is it a good idea to have Steam installed on micro SD card or any kind of external storage drive instead of installing it on the computer itself?

But most people won't be buying those sort of SD cards, they'll get the cheapest thing from Wallyworld or the equivalent store. Those are the ones I have issues with.

Sure, but worst case scenario save games are all stored in My Documents or in the Windows User folder on C:\, so even if the MicroSD melted and you had to get a new one, you could learn a lesson and buy a decent one then and recover fairly easily. Hassle of re-downloading games aside.

It might not be the "best" option, but it could be workable is my point.

Oh it totally is viable and I'm not saying don't do it, just realize there are better options and that you're kinda sorta gambling on it.
TBH if you truely want to do this whole SD card thing, ensure to get SD card that were made to maintain read, and write speeds, as well very good durability, if you write to it a lot.

This video may help explain, but ignore the subject of video recording.

Buy a good class 10 and try it

All you have to lose is what the card cost and a little time
