Wired Xbox One Controller not working on Steam [Fixed]

My xbox controller suddenly stopped working today when I tried to load up RL like I normally would. I've had no issues with my controller up until today. My Xbox controller works on any non-steam game just fine, but whenever I try to load up anything that I would use my controller for on steam, the controller just won't work. It says that my controller is detected and my settings/drivers are all installed as they should be, so idk what I'm supposed to do to fix this issue. Can someone please help me?

Disable Steam's input mapper. You may need to reconnect the gamepad afterwards.

By Disable Steam's input mapper, do you mean going into the steam big picture mode and checking off all the boxes listed in my controller settings? Sorry I don't really know much about steam settings lol.

No need to open BP, this stuff is in the "normal" settings as well. And while you can untick all, the important one is labeled "configuration support"..

I just disabled the xbox configuration support as well as the other things checked off in that menu and restarted steam, but my controller still doesn't work.

Actually wait I just fixed it by checking all the boxes on, restarting steam then checking them all off and restarting steam again. Once I unplugged and replugged my controller back in, it started to work again. Thanks a bunch :)

Mob - I'd looked all over the internet and tried so many different 'tricks'. Your suggestion seemed completely random but I tried it an omgawd it worked.
