Can't sign into steam?
Hi,

I can sign into the Steam client, but not on chrome.

I try to and get this:

'There have been too many login failures from your network in a short time period. Please wait and try again later.'

It's been 3 days, and I have been using the correct password. 100% because I tested it in client.

any advice?

I'm also contacting steam through support but Its gonna take a while, ty.

same. if you have any progress with support ticket, let us know, please.
I thought it was temporary, but it lasts quite a long time.

So it looks like i fixed it by turning my router off for a night.

Same problem here. Have changed my password three times, though I know it's right every time because I can still log into the Steam client. I've tried Chrome and Edge, both same problem, password is right, has been several hours, still being told to "wait and try again later".

Kind of frustrating there's no support email or other way to contact a human being that can fix things.

At least I'm not the only one having a problem. That usually means someone broke something on the back end and it'll get fixed sooner than later. A little communication to that effect would be really nice though.

I don't think it's a reason.
I think it was fixed. At least for some of us.
I've been able to login today too, but Steam said I login from "a new device",
so I think Steam support had to reset data for some networks/devices.
Because my network and device are the same as they were before.

Same problem recently. Changed my password, worked for me. I think someone is trying to hack our accounts

Hmm, weird I didnt get the new device message. The router work around was posted in different thread about this problem, so I dont know what fixed it in the end, but i can at least login.

I don't have router. I turn off my network connection every night when I turn off PC.
but I had this problem for about a week.
I've tried all workarounds at the first day and nothing worked.
So... it's either my provider considerably changed IP range today (which is also possible), or Steam fixed something.

Just an update on my ticket. They did not acknowledge any bug, but they did say they could see the throttling on my account. They removed the throttle and had me change my password for good measure. Now I can once again log into the web page.
