Steam.exe.old?
I'm following this guide to change my Steam installation folder without having to uninstall: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129&l=english

In there, it says to delete everything except for a select folders and file, one of them being "Steam.exe". However, after checking my Steam folders I found the closest I have to this is an OLD file called "Steam.exe.old".

I've read mixed tips on whether removing the .old part of it will make it work. Some claim it will, but it didn't seem to work for others. Help?

Nevermind. I'm dumb. I was expecting to simply find a file called Steam.exe. But obviously the Application file called Steam is .exe format. Carry on....:steamfacepalm:

if you have "known file types hidden" then you will only see "Steam", otherwise you'll see the true name which *is* "Steam.exe". It sounds like you are hiding the .exe part with your folder preferences.
