BRAND NEW High End Gaming Pc Running Slow
Hellos guys i just built my self a brand spanking new gaming pc and for some reason it is running my games slow.

Specs:

GIGABYTE X399 AORUS PRO
AMD Threadripper 1950X 16 Core 32 Thread
RTX 2080 Super Gaming X Trio
G.SKILL 32GB (4 x 8GB) TridentZ RGB Series DDR4
Noctua NH-U12S TR4-SP3, Premium-Grade CPU Cooler for AMD sTRX4/TR4/SP3
CORSAIR RMX Series, RM850x, 850 Watt
Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB

Ive literally tried everything and nothing seems to speed up my games, i usually run at about 30-50 fps when i should be getting upwards of 100.

Drivers are all up to date ive played with windows power saving setting for hours, and ive even bought a new monitor. Games Do not usually lag spike they just dont feel smooth like they should.

Does anyone have any solutions to help fix this?

Thanks

Edit (12/21/19):
Switched out the CPU, CPU cooler, and MB

i9-9900k
ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero
Noctua NH-U12S

Things seem to be running ALOT better, i can consistently get above 90 fps.

Thanks again for all the help everyone.

If this is just for gaming you've made a few huge mistakes in your build. Threadripper is overkill, so is your PSU and RAM.

Wipe GPU drivers with DDU, and disable windows ability to handle drivers. Then clean install from Nvidia and don't download GFE.

threadripper has very slow cores, but lots of them
not good for games period

i3 9100 quad core has better single to quad core performance (where it counts in most games)

If I were OP, I'd return all the parts and start new.

OP, your build isn't THAT bad. Sure the parts aren't optimal for gaming, but it's still good stuff, and your CPU isn't slow, just not as fast as other cpu's out there for the money.

It's not bad, could be a LOT better.

Wow i didnt realize that the Threadripper was not good for gaming, my friend picked all my parts for me and told me the threadripper was one the best CPU for gaming, now what does wiping the GPU drivers with DDU mean?

Well, yeah but come on. The guy doesn't need to hear his pc is trash, because it's not. Obviously he went all out and at least his GPU is good. I'd trade my system for his in a heartbeat.

Your friend was wrong. DDU is a downloadable program.

now what can i do to fix this besides redownload the drivers?
emoticorpse Nov 30, 2019 @ 4:36pm
What resolution is your monitor? what refresh rate?.

What os did you install?. Is it windows 10?. Is it up to date?. Where did you get the iso?. It shouldn't be that slow but that's why I'm asking about resolution and refresh rate.

What resolution, that's important.

Yeah, you could've gone with a 3600, 2080ti, 16GB RAM, 650W PSU and a B450 mobo and it would be a lot better.
