¿How to upscale game resolution to screen resolution?

Hello everybody! I have a low spec laptop were I play some games. My laptop resolution is 1920x1080, but is not powerful enought to run games at full resolution, so I usually turn my games resolution to 720p or 968p depending the game. The thing is, the games always upscaled automaticaly to my laptops screen, but now, for some unknown reason they don´t. They show with black borders up, down, left and right, which is horrible. I don´t know why it happened, I didn't touch any configs on my laptop, it was all sudden. Can anyone help me to fix this issue? I'll appreciate it a lot.
