4k vs high fps vs 2k/medium fps.
In your experiences which is better for gaming? I don't have much experiences with PC gaming so any input would be great. I have been gaming on my home TV which is only 1080p at 60hz. If it helps I only really play single player games but play a lot of different types. Any other advice or tips about choosing a monitor would be helpful.

depends on the game, I play 4k on anything that isnt a competitive shooter 144hz on anything that is, (I dont know what medium fps is but) if your asking if id rather play sub 40 fps at 4k or 1440p at 50fps Id rather play at 1440p 50fps

2K 144Hz is the sweet spot.

I always go for FPS over visuals. 60 FPS is my minimum and i will lower everything to get it in every game i play. If i can get it with going 2k or higher, fine. But FPS over resolution/graphic settings, at least for me.
