Help! Messed up controller configuration in Steam (PS2-Controller Clone)
I connected the following older controller on my Windows 10 64Bit Gaming-Laptop: Gembird UDP-PDV-01. It's an Gaming Controller with the PS2-Layout and USB cable connection.

Windows detects it and installed a generic "HID-conform game controller"

I also installed the "driver" from the gembird homepage which turned out to be just a configuration program - the generic Windows driver is still loaded as shown in the Windows Device Manager.

The I try to set it up in the Steam Big Picture View because it did not work correctly with my Steam games. Here Iam stuck...

One time steam identifies the controller as XBOX Controller , the other time I managed to make it a generic gamepad. Both didn't work. Now the Big Picture mode is now longer usable with the controller - all buttons messed up. One time I managed to get the PS2 Layout in the configuration but I can't reproduce this anymore.

Has anyone overcome similar problems with his controller? Or even an instruction on how to install this correctly?
