Download speed down to 1MB/s when it was at 10MB/s
I test my speed on SpeedTest, 80MB/s, then previously, like a few days ago, I am able to download games at 10MB/s, but now its down to 1.2MB/s.. I don't get why. I cleared Cache, didn't help, prioritized Steam on Task manager, doesn't help, but then I see in task manager that Steam is getting 8-10MB/s under network, but the "disk" is only getting 1.2MB/s, which is my download speed. How would I fix this? I know my disk can write more than 1mb/s, I just dont know how to fix it. Ive also defragmentated my disk, and optimized it, any suggestions?

You're getting confused between MB/s and Mbps.

They're 8 bits in a byte so 80 Megabit is 10 Megabytes per second.

Speed tests and task manager rate your speed in Megabit, while by default Steam gives it you in Megabytes.

You're right that with an 80Mbps download speed, you should be getting 10MB\s on Steam, but task manager is right. 10Mbps is around 1.2MB\s.

I suggest doing another speed test to ensure the issue isn't with your ISP.

Steam defaults to MB/s.

Steam > Settings > Web Browser >>> Display download rates in bits per second
