Changing the name in the top right corner of Steam

Is it possible I could change the name that appears at the top right of Steam, next to our profile picture? Because it's currently set to something that I hate, and I've purchased 4 games that I will need to buy again if I make a new account.

Your profile name? Yes, edit your profile.

Yes. Go into your friends list. Click the chevron next to your name and change it.

The newest steam client shows your profile name in the upper right.

If you’re talking about the browser it still unfortunately defaults to your account name. You can fix this by using Enhanced Steam extension which replaces this with your profile name instead

If you mean you want to actually change your account name, Steam doesn’t support this

I'm on the browser right now and it shows the piece of junk i don't want. I'm gonna go load the client..

Like I said the browser shows the account name, while the client shows the profile name

Just get the “Enhanced Steam” extension for your browser

I added it, it still says the name i hate..

I see something at the top that says 'Enhanced Steam' with an arrow pointing down next to it... but when i click it, nothing happens
